Chinese military survey ship “Yuan Wang-5” docks in Hambantota Port days after India raised security concerns. A religious ceremony is also organised for the ship’s docking at Hambantota port.
India is concerned about the ship’s proximity to its borders and tracking equipment on board. India says it is spy ship while China says it is a research and survey ship and it is gathering maritime research data and India’s concerns are unjustified.
Actually, the Yuan Wang-5 ship has a range of intelligence gathering capabilities. Ship can monitor #Ballistic Missiles launches and track #Satellites and #Rockets.
Sri Lanka has leased the Port of Hambantota to China for 99 years in 2017 at a cost of $1.1 billion.
This is a demonstration of China’s influence and power over Sri Lanka and Indian Ocean at the moment.
#Note: We Indians must unite for the security and safety of “Vande Mataram” because China has published its new map recently due to Taiwan problem. That map speaks a lot.
