Turkey’s President Erdogan has opened a newly built military base in Qatar and named the centre after the famous Muslim commander Khalid bin Walid who commanded Prophet’s army in seventh century.

At the new Turkish base 5,000 soldiers will be stationed. He said ‘Turkey-Qatar Combined Joint Force Command’ serves stability and peace of not only Qatar but also the Gulf region.

Qatar has invested more than $20 billion in Turkey in last three years and intends to buy .100 Turkish tanks.

Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed and Chinese billionaire Jack Ma inaugurated the e-world trade platform (e-WTP) in Addis Ababa . The platform will facilitate the e-commerce, retail and wholesale trading and the flow of goods across boundaries within 72 hours anywhere in the world.

Jack Ma donated $100 million to support skills development and a digital hub. He said: “this is the beginning that Africa can compete with Europe and America.”
