He was a member of a delegation of Bihar congress party which met Gandhiji in Champaran in his famous Indigo revolt.Under influence of Gandhiji he resigned from munsif(civil Judge) post and again started his career as a lawyer. He was vice president of Muzaffarpur District board from 1941 to 1948. He was secretary of Hajipur Co-operative Bank . He was president of Bar council Hajipur for many years. He was also associated with several sports bodies there.
For the sake of his ill wife and small children,he sacrificed his political career and limited his activities only in and around Hajipur. He died on 19.09.1972 at Hajipur due to prolonged illness and buried in the campus of famous Sangi Masjid in Hajipur.
My late father Prof Tarique Jamily has written a book “NAQSH E JAMIL” remembering his father’s life, memories, career, personality, works and activities. He has also written a long poem on him “Abbajaan” in his another book JAZB E DAROON.
