The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 closing ceremony has amazed the fans. “A Night to Remember” has been reflected through music and poetry, songs Hayya Hayya by Davido and Aisha. Ozuna and Gims did ‘Arhbo’ and the full female lineup of ‘Light the Sky’ with Nora Fatehi, Balqees, Rahma and Manal.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has thanked the 20,000 FIFA World Cup volunteers. He said “you are heart and soul of the World Cup. You are the best volunteers ever for the best World Cup ever. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, from all of those who love football, you are fantastic.”
In a press conference on Friday, Infantino said that “Qatar 2022 was the best World Cup edition ever” and it succeeded in uniting the world. He said that it was successful on all fronts, with no cases of hooliganism. The revenues increased by $1 billion from the previous edition in Moscow to $7 billion.
Qatar 2022 has provided an opportunity to introduce the culture, customs and traditions of Qatari, Arab and Muslim societies to the world. The generous Qatari hospitality with water, juices and dates has created a positive impression on the fans.
The cultural events held at Katara, Darb Al Saai and Souq Waqif round the clock have played a major role in introducing the visitors to the Qatari heritage.
Qatar successfully wrapped up the tournament despite various challenges and political criticisms over its hosting of the World Cup. Despite these challenges, Qatar has projected the image of a modernizing, economically dynamic state to the world.
It produces 77 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year, about a quarter of global production, which makes it a big player in the world. Production is forecast to increase to 126 million tons a year by 2026-27.
