Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim and President of FIFA Gianni Infantino crowned the Argentina national football team the winner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday evening.
Amir Tamim in his Tweet said that the State of Qatar has fulfilled its promise to organise an exceptional tournament on the land of Arabs with the conclusion of Qatar 2022.
The ceremony was attended by a number of Majesties, Excellencies, heads of state and heads of delegations of the sisterly and friendly states, prominent among them were King of Malaysia, President of Kyrgyzstan, Tataristan, Prime Minister of Iraq and Hungary, President Macron, Erdogan, William Ruto, Paul Kagame and others.
The World cup trophy weighs about 6 kg and is made of 18-carat gold was given to Argentina in a trunk/briefcase made by the world’s most valuable luxury brand, Louis Vuitton. Trophy cost around $50,000 at the time of manufacturing by an Italian firm but currently valued around $20 million.
The official ball of FIFA Cup was manufactured in Sialkot, Pakistan by Adidas. Marine security was provided by the Turkish Navy and the Pakistani Navy. Turkiye’s 3,000 intelligence people and Police provided security in towns and stadiums.
All eight of Qatar’s stadiums are located within an hour’s journey time of central Doha and easily accessible by metro, bus and taxi services. More than 1.4 million fans from across the globe have visited Qatar and cumulative attendance was 3.4 million, an average attendance of 53,000 fans per match.
Argentina has won the World Cup for a third time in 2022, 1986 and 1978 while losing finals in 1930, 1990 and 2014.
#Note: Final match between Argentina and France was the best ever in World Cup history. The match was very exciting and ended in penalties shoot-out. Yesterday, Tennis player, Serena Williams tweeted “OK, if I have a heart attack, it’s because I am watching the FIFA World Cup”.
