#The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is a museum of 21st century and scheduled to open in 2020. The museum will exhibit the artifacts of ancient Egypt and full Tutankhamun collection with many pieces to be displayed for the first time. Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and also called King Tut.
The museum covers 120 acres of land and its glass-fronted building will give a beautiful panoramas of the Giza plateau and Great Pyramids, which stand just two kilometres away. Its construction cost is nearly $1 billion.
The design of the building was decided by means of the second largest architectural competition in history and won by the company Heneghan Peng from Dublin, Ireland.
#Dubai’s “the Museum of the future” is designed by the architectural firm Killa Design. The design has won several awards. The Museum is located near the Emirates Tower. The Museum building stands encased in stainless steel and beautified with Arabic calligraphy. It is scheduled to open in 2020.
The Museum will host a group of innovation labs focusing on health, education, smart cities, energy and transport. It will provide a platform to demonstrate and test the latest inventions from world’s leading tech giants and start-ups, research institutes and universities.
#Abu Dhabi’s the Louvre, an art and civilisation museum was inaugurated in 2017 by French President Macron. Artworks from around the world are showcased at the museum to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western art. The architectural concept of the museum is based on traditional Arabic architecture. It costs €600 million.
#Qatar “Desert Rose” a new National Museum was inaugurated in 2019. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, who was also behind the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The building has curved discs, cantilevered angles and surprising intersections. Its concept was inspired by “desert rose” crystal clusters which form in the Qatari desert. The final cost of Museum was $434 million.
